xxxHOLiC Joins List Of Anime With Live-Action Adaptations

xxxholic live actionCLAMP’s xxxHOLiC (×××ホリック) is making its way from the pages of the manga and the anime world into the real world with a live-action take! Scheduled for release on 2013, Japanese TV station WOWOW (ワウワウ) has confirmed this news on their official website. The live-action take of xxxHOLiC will be part of the 2013 shows lined up in the WOWOW premium satellite network.

xxxHOLiC tells the story of Watanuki Kimihiro (四月一日 君尋), a high school boy who attracts the unwarranted attention of ghosts and spirits. Keep Reading

Figures In The News: The Rider, The Pirates And The Student Council President

fate riderEvery die hard otaku is not complete without their own collection of anime figures. This week, Asgard talks about the latest anime figures and we’re starting off with Fate/Zero’s (フェイト/ゼロ) Rider (ライダー).

During the Chara Hobby 2012 event, MegaHouse (メガハウス) displayed this unpainted Rider figure along with other unpainted mechas, as well as trading figures of the Fate/Zero cast. In Fate/Zero, Rider is the servant of Waver Velvet (ウェイバー・ベルベット) and is also known as Iskander (イスカンダル) or Alexander the Great. Keep Reading

Ryoko ShiraishiVoice actress Ryoko Shiraishi (白石 涼子) had a very happy week. The day before she turned 30, Shiraishi tied the knot with her boyfriend, a simple company worker. The voice actress of Hayate Ayasaki (綾崎 ハヤテ) from Hayate the Combat Butler (ハヤテのごとく!) celebrated her 30th birthday on September 7, 2012. Manga artist Takashi Shiina (椎名高志) was recently joined in by fellow mangaka Karino Takatsu (高津 カリノ) in celebrating Shiraishi’s wedding with simple, congratulatory mangas. Keep Reading

Tonari no Kaibutsu-Kun PV Reveals Series Spoof

Tonari no Kaibutsu-KunSet to debut this Fall season, Robico’s romantic comedy Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (Seating Beside a Monster) is starting to prepare for its premiere slate. The official website for the series had just began streaming its latest promotional video on Monday, to which the shoujo themed plot has been engulfed with an ironical funny spoof.

This anime project adapts Robiko’s popular rom-com story about two high school students who are the opposite of one another, yet through various circumstances, falls in love. Keep Reading

Sekina Aoi’s Manga Green Lit for Anime Adaptation

Seitokai no IchizonFall is a season filled with old anime favorites and new releases. Just recently, the Japanese production group Kadokawa, has began streaming an interesting promotional teaser for their upcoming new project, Sekina Aoi’s Seitokai no Ichizon (The Discretion of the Student Council). The series, illustrated by Kira Inugami, has been first released on 2008 and was published under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko brand—a label created by Fujimi Shobo.

Originally known as the Hekiyou Gaien Seitokai Gijiroku (The Minutes of the Hekiyou Academy Student Council), the title was changed according to the subtitle of the series’ first volume, to which it has been presently known as the Seitokai Series. Keep Reading
