Teasers Streamed for Live Action Himitsu no Akko-Chan

Akko-chanA trailer teaser for the live action adaptation Himitsu no Akko-chan (ひみつのアッコちゃん) was streamed on March 16.

The trailer features the 5th grader Akko, receiving her magical compact from a powerful spirit of the mirror. Using this compact, Akko is able to cast a spell upon herself, transforming into anything, or anyone, that she desires. Gender Switching Plot Gets Manga Spin Off

Japanese manga artist Ai Morinaga gets to re-launch her romantic comedy series Your & My Secret (僕と彼女の×××, Boku to Kanojo no XXX).

The story, which originally ended in the September 2011 issue of the popular comic magazine Mag Garden, is set to be seen again in the magazine’s ages starting this June. As based from the promotions, the spin-off series will highlight the four main characters from its original plot. Its first run lasted for a decade and was published in eight volumes. Keep Reading

2012 is the year of Japanese Live Action Movies and Himitsu No Akko-Chan is no exception and what a better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the manga! The original manga, created by the late Fujio Akatsuka, pioneered the magical girl genre. Himitsu No Akko-Chan’s manga ran from 1962-1965 in the monthly Japanese shojo manga Ribon while its anime counterpart ran from 1969-1970.
