Sanspo, a Japanese Sports and Entertainment news publication, has revealed that the Toei Animation historical comedy series is about to have its own live action adaptation. Ikkyu-san, an animated series which was inspired by a true-to-life Buddhist Monk, is scheduled to be aired on Fuji TV as a three part anthology in prime time set this June.

Ikkyu Soujun is the historical character which inspired the original animation. The plot trails after his naughty adventures as a child while he is staying at the Ankoku Temple. Keep Reading

A live action film adaptation is scheduled for Mayu Shinjo’s shoujo romance manga, Ai Ore Love Me (Ai wo Utau yori Ore ni Oborero). The story, staged in a high school setting, involves a unique love story between a feminine man and a manly girl, and their love for music. As recently revealed, music label / producer Exit Tunes has created a new female Vocaloid 3 character named Mayu. The gothic-lolita dressed high school student was given a yandere personality—an odd irony of a soft and friendly outward behavior, but turns hostile when aggravated. On May 17, 2012, Otaku House introduced Kawa in their Announcements and Promotions. Preceding the short introduction shown above is an image of a girl with short, white hair and clad in the modern take on the Japanese kimono with a golden box trailing on red cloth.

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (ぬらりひょんの孫) is one anime that teaches us that there’s more to people than meets the eye.

Meet Nura Rikuo, a normal, everyday, junior high student. Underneath his ordinary, 12-year-old looks however rages Yokai (demon) blood. Rikou transforms into a powerful demon commander called Nurarihyon when night falls and returns to normal when the sun rises.
