One Piece Themed Café “Baratie” Opens in Odaiba

Another addition enters the list of real-life One Piece world, as on June 28, a restaurant named “Baratie” opens in the rooftop garden space of Fuji TV’s building in Odaiba, Tokyo.

More Details on New Hayao Miyazaki Film Revealed

02 - Wind RisesStudio Ghibli has released an ad preview for the new Hayao Miyazaki film, Kaze Ga Tachiru (The Wind Rises). Details for the upcoming project have been revealed, including the theme song Hikouki Gumo (Airplane Cloud) which is contributed by Yumi Matsutoya. Matsutoya has composed the song when she was 16 years old.

The service provider au has also revealed that they will be collaborating with this new project. Two ads have streamed with their brand included, which depicts Evangelion director Hideaki Anno as Horikishi in front of the mic. Keep Reading

Les Miserables Slated for Manga Adaptation

01 - Les MiserablesVictor Hugo’s well-acclaimed novel Les Miserables will soon be adapted into manga, as revealed in the August issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Magazine. Just this Friday it was announced that artist Takahiro Arai will be launching a new manga series based on this classic French novel.

It must be noted that Arai has previously drawn a manga adaptation of another popular book, Darren Shan’s Cirque du Freak novel. This manga series ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, from 2006 to 2009. Keep Reading
