RK Live Action News: Shishio Makoto Has Formed The Juppongatana

JuppongatanaThe latest Rurouni Kenshin ( るろうに剣心 -明治剣客浪漫譚-) live action movie press photo has been released and Tatsuya Fujiwara (藤原 竜也), who plays Shishio Makoto (志々雄 真実), has finally been joined by the Juppongatana (十本刀). With Shishio standing in the middle with his Mugenjin (無限刃) in his hand, the members of the Juppongatana stand and line on either side of him.

In the Rurouni Kenshin universe, the Juppongatana is a group of immensely skilled warriors formed and ruled by Shishio with the objective of overthrowing the Meiji Government. Keep Reading

Kodansha monthly magazine Sirius (月刊少年シリウス) has announced the good news in their February issue. The Space Dandy manga will be featured under the Wednesday Sirius category over at Nico Nico (ニコニコ).

Masayuki Ishikawa Wins Lawsuit Over Screen Film

moyashimonMasayuki Ishikawa (石川雅之), creator of Moyashimon (もやしもん), has won a lawsuit filed against director Takashi Kuroki on the grounds of creating a film based on another of Ishikawa’s Kanojo no Kokuhaku (彼女の告白) without the mangaka’s permission.

News of the lawsuit was covered by Eijiro Shimada, editor-in-chief of Kodansha’s (株式会社講談社) weekly seinen magazine, Morning (モーニング). He posted the details of the said lawsuit in Morning’s official website on December 25 and has confirmed that Kanojo no Kokuhaku was first featured in Morning under the Weekly Masayuki Ishikawa section.
