Shogukan Weekly’s Shonen Sunday has recently announced that a special adaptation of Gosho Aoyama’s hit mystery series Meitantei Conan is set to launch this spring. The live action special is tentatively dubbed as Meitantei Conan Drama Special: Kudo Shinichi Kyoto Shinsengumi Satsujin Jiken / Detective Conan Drama Special: Shinichi Kudo and the Case of the Kyoto Shinsengumi Murder. While the original manga trails after the clever high school detective trapped in a kid’s body, present-day spin-offs are said to have been set before the manga, where Shinichi (Conan Edogawa) was still in his teenage years. It seems like the battle against the Hallows are about to take its toll, as Bleach Anime adaptation is scheduled to end this coming March 27. NTV states that the anime’s episode 366 will be the last of the series to be shown this season, as a new Naruto spin-off series, focusing on Rock Lee (Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full Power) is set to take over Bleach’s usual time slot. Classic sci-fi animation Space Battleship Yamato (宇宙戦艦ヤマト) is set to have a remake movie to be released in Japanese theaters on April 7, 2012. Its original series was initially made in 1974, where it features a powerful spacecraft journeys around the universe, encountering cosmos-related battles. The series have been widely distributed internationally, and has been dubbed in various languages such as English, Portuguese and Italian.

Popular Anime Studio Bones (株式会社 ボンズ) is set to release a new storyline from their original Eureka Seven series. The latest addition to their mecha-based stories is Eureka Seven: AO (Astral Ocean), which is scheduled to first run in MBS on April 12, 2012. This new series will be adapted into both manga and animated series.

Manga adaptation animation Strike Witches (ストライクウィッチーズ) is releasing a movie this coming March 17. Viewers can get anther round of adventure with Yoshika, Mio, and the rest of the moe gijinka girls who are taking their battle up to a new level. New characters are appearing on screen, generating a new exciting storyline from its original plot.
