Code Geass News Roundup
As of yesterday, a positive storm of Code Geass news has been released – fans of the franchise should be dancing with joy.
First off, the long-awaited details of the Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito (Akito the Exiled) project have finally been released. The leads, Hyuga Akito and Reira Marukaru, will be voiced by Irino Miyu and Sakamoto Maaya respectively. Sakamoto will also be singing the theme song, with composition by legendary Kanno Yoko and lyrics by Iwasato Yuho. Most importantly, a trailer has been released:
The project will be screened in theaters early this summer. See the website for more information: http://www.geass.jp/akito/
Next up, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion will be getting a theatrical film adaption. There’s not a lot of information at the moment, but the producers are calling it a “dream project”, so hopefully we can expect something good.
Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland will be getting an OVA project. It will be released on DVD and Blu-ray some time this year, and will come with a 40-page picture book. Here’s the website: http://geass.jp/nunnally/
In addition to the stage play announced a while back, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion will also be getting a musical. It’s supposed to take place in between the events of season 1 and 2, and will run from June 28th to July 8th. It will feature an all-male cast; yes, even for all of the female characters. If you’d like to see what the actors look like, I’d suggest heading over to this article. The official website is: http://www.geass-musical.net/
But wait, there’s more! A new Code Geass project, entitled Code Geass: Soubou no Ozu, has been announced. All the information out so far is that it’s some sort of printed media, and that both Newtype Ace and Hobby Japan are involved.
