Kite Live ActionFans of Yasuomi Umetsu’s (梅津 泰臣) controversial 1998 anime Kite (A カイト) are already on their toes waiting for the release of the live action movie starring India Eisley, Callan McAuliffe and Samuel L. Jackson. IGN has kept fans anticipating as the video game entertainment website posted the official poster of the movie.

Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) stars Takeru Satoh (佐藤 健), Emi Takei (武井咲), and Munetaka Aoki (青木崇高) will be in Manila on August 6 for the movie premiere of Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-Hen (るろうに剣心 京都大火編) in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong which will be followed by a public press conference on August 7 in Glorietta Activity Center in Makati. Hazuki Kanae’s (葉月 かなえ) popular shoujo manga, Sukitte Ii Na Yo (好きっていいなよ。), is getting a live-action film! Japanese actress Haruna Kawaguchi (川口 春奈), together with actor Sota Fukushi (福士 蒼汰) star in this movie as Mei Tachibana (橘 めい) and Yamato Kurosawa (黒沢 大和) respectively. Also known as Wanna be the Strongest in the World!, Sekai de Ichiban follows the story of Hagiwara Sakura. Isao Takahata’s Kaguya-Hime Visuals Released

princess kaguya Fresh off the Studio Ghibli (株式会社スタジオジブリ) press are the latest Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (かぐや姫の物語) visuals. Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari is directed and co-written by Studio Ghibli co-founder, Isao Takahata (高畑 勲) and is the first movie he has worked on 14 years after his 1999 movie project, My Neighbor the Yamadas (ホーホケキョとなりの山田くん).

Takahata’s Kaguya-Hime no Monogatari is a rendition of the classic Japanese folktale, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語). The folktale dates back as far as the 10th century and tells the story of Taketori no Okina (竹取翁) who comes across a shining bamboo stalk. Keep Reading
